So many of us spend our lifetime looking for OUR purpose. When I discovered my own life’s purpose, I was intentionally seeking guidance from God. The centerpiece of the Gospel of Leadership lies in the acceptance that while purpose provides resource, of itself, it is not THE source. I am fully persuaded that once purpose is discovered, it still has to be sustained… or it dies.
While discovery is the place of personal fulfillment and celebration, it is sustainment of purpose that bears sweet, delicious fruit.
Consider your family, job, church, hobby, sport, leisure, civic organization, volunteer activities, and your role in those pursuits…do they have purpose for you?
Do you appreciate the value those pursuits bring to your life more or less than they did in the beginning?
Why? The uncomfortable truth for many of us is… leadership!
